Multi-hyphenates are hard. They look better in threes. Annie is a actor, singer, director, writer, creative collaborator, comedian and aspiring changemaker from Los Angeles. She started in community musical theatre at the age of five, and spent most of her childhood acting with amateur theatre companies around Los Angeles County, performing solo concerts at events and fundraisers, and song-leading for Jewish children's services as a cantorial assistant for Doug Cotler. Annie attended the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA) as a Voice Major (Musical Theatre Dual Major) with a focus in Opera. She began writing and performing with alt-rock/blues band Clockwork City in 2012, opened for bands like Ambrosia and 10,000 Maniacs, and performed with rock legends Slash and Shavo. While in high school, Annie started working as a children's party performer and host, nanny, voice teacher, and freelance singer for Jewish services and events. Upon graduating LACHSA, Annie had a brief one-year stint as a 1st year musical theatre major at The Boston Conservatory at Berklee, followed by another year of applying to schools and working odd creative jobs to pay for tuition. She landed exactly where she was meant to be, at The Theatre School at DePaul University, where she will be graduating June 2022. Annie took another wee gap year in 2021, during which she worked as a production assistant at NBC Universal. Theatre School credits include Detroit '67 (Caroline), directed by Phyllis E. Griffin; Polaroid Stories (Philomel); Bachelorette (Gena), directed by Kristina Fluty; The Fantasticks (El Gallo), directed by Rob Adler; and dis/ease, directed by Dado. Annie was honored to portray Sue-icide in the Los Angeles workshop of new musical Home Street Home at Center Theatre Group. Upcoming: Tall Enough (spring '22) directed by Chris Anthony at the Merle Reskin Theatre. Annie is passionate about projects that center racial justice, Black joy, celebrating Black women, LGBTQ+ and disability rights and representation, Jewish history and identity, social justice, mental health, Palestinian rights and liberation, and multicultural exploration.
